Hellbent, Tim and DGM

It didn’t take long for the Mitchell family to make the decision to retire Hellbent to stud at Yarraman Park Stud following his impressive win in the $500,000 William Reid Stakes (1200m) in March.

By the second week in April, Morgan + English was busy drawing up a Standing Agreement for the five-year-old son of I Am Invincible.

Having been unlucky in three previous Group 1s and in the same race in 2017, his final race showed an impressive turn of foot having to race wide of the field and pass the post in near record time. Hellbent’s other race credits included second in the 2017 G1 William Reid Stakes (1200m), third in the G1 Oakleigh Plate to Russian Revolution, Listed BR Crowley Stakes (1200m), Listed GH Mumm Stakes (1000m) and Listed Kensington Stakes (1000m).

Pictured above with Morgan + English director, Daniel Morgan, and solicitor Tim Maddocks, and handler, Michael Morton, Hellbent showed all the attributes of an Australian-bred tough racehorse. Racing until he was 5 years old, he won races in each of his 2 y/o, 3 y/o, 4 y/o and 5 y/o seasons.

We look forward to seeing Hellbent in the Stallion Parade at Yarraman Park on Friday, 24 August 2018, alongside his sire I am Invincible.
