Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association Awards Night 2019

Last week the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association hosted their annual awards night in Scone. The HTBA plays an important role in promoting the thoroughbred breeding industry in the Hunter Valley region. On the night, Morgan + English had the honour of sponsoring and presenting the 3 year Colt award, which was to Arrowfield’s The Autumn Sun. Below is the speech given by Morgan + English partner, Annette English as she presented the award.

“Morgan + English have for many years been the proud sponsor of this category and we are pleased to once again be involved in supporting the HTBA in the work they do promoting thoroughbred breeding in the Hunter Valley.

Morgan + English have had a successful year with great support for our WHS business, Safe Industries Australia, with many clients in attendance tonight. It is great to see so many people taking WHS seriously.

We have launched our separate debt collection business, Thoroughbred Recoveries, which has been well received and is working hard for many clients in what is a sorely needed area of the industry.

The winner of this category excelled over his 3yo campaign. 4 times a Group 1 winner as a 3yo and taking out the previously never achieved triple of the Caulfield, Randwick and Rosehill Guineas he was in a league of his own.

Congratulations to both Hermitage Bloodstock’s Oliver Koolman and Arrowfield Stud’s John Messara on taking out the Morgan + English Commercial Lawyers Champion 3yo Colt with The Autumn Sun. To collect the trophy on their behalf is Paul Messara of Arrowfield.”
