Since 1944 the Scone community has embraced the running of Scone Cup. Contested over 1600m, the listed feature offers $200,000 in prize money and is run under quality handicap condition.
Last years winner Duca Valentinois was a great success story for the Cup sponsor, Darley racing arm, Godolphin, which was trained by Darren Beadman just a week into his role as Godolphin’s acting trainer.

The Scone Cup Carnival is held over two days on Friday 11 May for the Darley Scone Cup and Saturday 12 May for the Inglis Guineas and Coolmore Dark Jewel. Scone replaces metropolitan Sydney as the major race meeting of the day. With nearly 2 million dollars in prize money on offer, it truly is country racing at it’s best.
