stud sale

A new national record has been set at a northern NSW stud sale, where 15-month-old Texas Iceman R725’s sale broke the previous record of $160,000 set in 2019. The sale has been two decades in the making for the young stud’s breeder, who have spent more than 20 years searching the world for the best genetics to add to their breeding program. Stud principal Wendy Mayne spoke on behalf of her family’s breeding program, based at Texas Angus near Warialda, confirmed that the young bull is the offspring of United States sire Poss Maverick, whose “carcass … phenotype and muscle expression” contributed to the success of the program and subsequent sale.
