The Scone Horse Festival is always an exciting time of year in Scone. As a local business, we love to celebrate the Horse Capital of Australia and support the town as people from the industry head to Scone to attend the Darley Scone Cup Race Day, the Scone Horse Show, and the Scone Polo Club competitions, amongst the many other events that occur throughout the week. The Scone Horse Festival is such an important event in our Scone community and the horse industry, so we are incredibly proud to be involved in the event.

On Wednesday, 11 May, our managing director, Annette English, had the great pleasure of presenting the Employee of the Year (Leadership) Award to Ms Toni Freeman at the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association Awards Night. Ms Freeman, a respected leader and mentor in the industry, has a wealth of experience in the thoroughbred industry in Australia and overseas. Morgan + English, Thoroughbred Recoveries, and Safe Industries Australia are proud to support the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association in our capacity as sponsors of the Association.

Morgan + English, Thoroughbred Recoveries, and Safe Industries Australia were also involved in the Scone Equine Hospital Triple Header, playing in a combined golf team on Thursday, 12 May. Our team had a lot of fun playing in the tournament, and it was great to be supporting Scone Equine, a key business in the Scone horse industry. Finishing on a birdie wasn’t a bad end to our first time competing in the Triple Header, and we can’t wait to come back next year.

Our team had a great time celebrating the Darley Scone Cup Race day on Friday, 13 May, in the marquee, and it was lovely for our team members from both the Scone and Sydney offices to enjoy the day together and celebrate as a team. Our managing directors, Annette English and Daniel Morgan, attended the second day at the Dark Jewel Race day on Saturday, 14 May.

On behalf of Morgan + English as a sponsor, Daniel presented ribbons to the competitors in the Show Jumping event on Sunday, 15 May, to wrap up the week.

Morgan + English, Thoroughbred Recoveries, and Safe Industries Australia are proud sponsors and supporters of the Scone Horse Festival. We had a great time celebrating as a team and supporting the local equine industry. We look forward to our continuing involvement and support of the industry and are excited for the Scone Horse Festival in 2023!
