The @bushfromthebush campaign has reached over 80,000 followers on Instagram and 85,000 on Facebook and this exposure has already benefited many businesses. Some businesses have reported sales double their annual income in only a few weeks. The scheme is beneficial in several ways, as it stimulates the regional economy, boosts morale and gives consumers the satisfaction of knowing their money is having a profound impact. In particular, social media exposure boosts sales for local businesses, by allowing them to access new markets as well as attracting retailers and wholesalers. M+E staff members are enjoying buying from the bush in preparation for the Christmas season and encourage others to do so as well.
